This is a fairly straight forward picture. I consider it one of my best drawings to date. It also happens to be my newest.
This is pencil on drawing paper.
The basic premise behind this picture is that our hero ( ) and his wife are saying good bye. This is from a storyline I have only partially started work on, so I won't go into any more detail then to say that they expect the lovely lady to be away for two years.
Sorry, don't expect to see this story line any time soon. I'm too busy with other projects and work. But never fear, some day this story will be produced in one form or another... some day.
This is easily the most detailed drawing of... well... me... that I have made to date. The same can be said of Veronica, the fictional love interest here. This is only the second time I have made a drawing of her.
In the end, I decided to go with a plain grey backdrop to aid with the "emotion" of this scene. I think it was a successful decision.
The story line in question would take place nearly 400 years from now. And The Wildcat is the head of an organization called the ADC by then.
I'll be posting a comic style drawing of Wildcat and his Nemesis (Commander) some day soon... I hope.
Anyway, without going into too many details, Veronica is about to leave to search for her race. She was raised on earth by foster parents when her mother brought her here, but then passed away.
I'm not real sure how long this drawing took because I stopped working on it for a while. There were several times I stopped work on it for a week or more. That means, I started it two or so months ago.

Actually, that is mostly background of a comic that I may make some day. I'm thinking about posting one or two pages I started work on once before (they're just line drawings) just to show off the drawing work.
This scene would be a flashback during a comic "series". Different memories would be revisited as the story moves along.
The story begins two years after this and problems arise involving politics and a space disaster, but he still thinks about this and worries about his wife.
I don't want to say much more as I don't want to give too much away.
Originally, I was thinking of setting up an MSN group as a message board RPG. And this comic would have been the begining of my story. I dropped that idea until a much later date and am focusing more on the story itself as part of a comic called "Ambition and Honor".

I'm really pleased with the way this picture developed. Hopefully I'll get around to makeing some more sometime soon.

The drawing looks really good! How long did you work on it?
Veronica isn't genetically manipulated though. She's alien.
